Info
Some kids wake slowly, with wild bedhead and sleepy eyes.
Some kids pop up, raring to go, greeting the morning with a mischievous grin.
Some moms sleep until the kids start waking up. Others are up before dawn, fitting in some quiet time for themselves before the rest of the house is awake.
Do any of these sound like your ordinary day?
I would love to photograph your extraordinary ordinary moments. Ready for photos that document your beautiful everyday?
A basic session is up to 4 hours. Beyond that, the sky is the limit. A full day in your life. Part (or even all) of a vacation.
If the idea of hiring me for a truly ordinary day seems too out there still, consider some of these particularly poignant moments that you might want to capture.
Before you move—remember life in a place that has meant a lot to you
Before you have a new baby—preserve a record of what life was like before it changes dramatically
After a new baby—record babyhood, because we all know how fast it goes by
First day of school—expand on the typical first day of school photos and document the entire milestone day from start to finish
Birthday—yours, your child’s, the dog’s. Keep the memory of the day alive long after the last piece of cake has been devoured.
Sunday morning—document favorite weekend traditions that you’ve created together
Tuesday—just because

F.A.Q.
about
Day In The Life
session
What does this term mean?
It means exactly what the name suggests. A photoshoot about you, which is taken in your own home :) How long does a session like this take? It depends on you entirely.. Usually it takes about 4 hours - this is enough time to capture wonderful and honest moments of your family life. However, if you would like the moments of waking up in the morning, and some of cooking lunch together and going out for ice-cream captured in photos, then please ask for a personalized quote. |
Does this mean that our home has to look like ones you see in magazines for this occasion?
No, it doesn’t. Since these photos are taken for you and they will be most of all about the real you, you don’t have to live up to anyone’s expectations. Just imagine that you will take out these albums before the wedding of your children - you will want to remember real stories, real emotions, smells and tastes. As time passes, these everyday moments will become truly valuable for you. |
But the kids will surely tip out boxes of LEGO (as well) during the session! Is this surely okay for you?
Yes, it is! :) Does this mean that you will fill our home with flashlights and other lighting? No. We work with natural light in almost every case. We find this very important, as natural light can outline emotions most beautifully. Certainly, if one of the important spots of the house is really dark then we use complementary lights, but we will keep them on the camera so you won’t have to pay extra attention to it. |
What should I wear for the photoshoot? How about the children? My husband will only put on an old T-shirt, no matter what I ask.
just simply put on whatever you feel best wearing and let the others do the same :) Do we really not have to pose? You don’t. Really :) You will see that it would be impossible to arrange pictures as perfect as your family will spontaneously make. |
What do you usually do if the children get sleepy while being photographed? Do you have some tricks to keep them awake? No, we don’t have any. We like sleeping children - they are quiet and way too cute :) Seriously speaking, the ritual of getting them to sleep and sound asleep children are so part of the everyday life. They are a wonderful subject to capture and those photos will be gems in your album. |
How should we prepare for the photoshoot then?
You don’t have to do anything extraordinary, honestly. DO NOT start doing the big Christmas cleaning (if it was not scheduled anyway) and there is no need to visit your hairdresser or make-up artist or fashion designer. However, we will talk a lot before the session so that we can get to know you better. And of course, we will talk a lot during the photoshoot, too, in order for you and the children to be comfortable with us in your own home. |
We met in 2014.
Szandra: I was working as a doula and a stylist, and Gabor chose me as her assistant (he has been a photographer for over 10 years).
Before we met in person, we spent a month behind our computers with e-mailing each other.
During this month we realized, that in some way there is much more between us than just professional contact.
We fell deeply in love with eachother.
We started our life together as a couple in Reading, and everydays were a bit different than just working, making art and dreaming of life together.
We started to learn ourselves and eachother in a really honest way.
This is the base of our life.
This journey started to change our viewpoint in photography as well.
We started to move away from typical posed, studio shots and we felt we need real emotions, true stories, because that's the only thing worth capturing.
2 years later our daughter - Szaffi - was born, in Bournemouth.
We thought we have enough knowledge of ourselves, but she is the biggest teacher for us :)
Instead of idealized family portraits, we started to document our life in a natural way and it was an amazing step to take!
She is growing (way too fast) and now she enjoys to look at the photos.
It tells HER story to herself. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
That was the period when we decided to change not only the perspective of our photography but the whole business model, too.
We know by heart that all the families need beautiful photographs of themselves.
It gives extra power and self-confidence what is essential to survive the tough moments of family life.
But these photos have to be made of real moments, raw emotions and honest stories.
With Love,
Szandra, Gabor and Szaffi (for sure :))
