The Ultimate Lifestyle session

As the end of this year is getting closer we are summing up all of it.

With the birth of our little baby, Szaffi, and her amazing development we are getting near to the end of our most exciting and also most tiring year ever.
It wasn't the only aspect of our life though, there were numerous challenges and unforgettable moments at work as well.

We have still a couple of sessions to show you, the following one has a special place in our heart.
We know Ola by sight for long, but I wasn't sure about this on that lazy afternoon, when we set out for a walk with Szaffi.
Our little lady was fast asleep so we had time to talk about the important matters in life, when a Mama with her two children came across.
They were a real phenomena and I left my eye on them involuntarily. Their style, their aura... It took only a second and I had this feeling under my skin that wow, I really wish we could photograph them.
A second slips away quickly, we have passed by but I was still staring at them, and that Mama smiled back at me. I felt ashamed as it's not very polite to stare at someone but Gabor left me no time to think about it as he was poking me, saying: hey Szandra, we know them! Oh, if only it was true...! But where do we know them from?
Gabor was already running after them and it turned out that on an easy Sunday morning carboot sale we bought some clothes for Szaffi from this family. Well, that's how much I can rely on my memory when it comes to faces. So Gabor took the lead and we were laughing together at the corner of the street.
A couple of weeks had to pass before we had the chance to have a session with them but it was worth the wait.

We had only a short hour to take the pictures and every minute of it was inspiring for us.
Ola's aura, the honesty  of the kids, their raw energy and untameable curiosity swept us off our feet.
Ola was apologising for the children running around everywhere and we could not be happier to get so many spontaneous moments.

We are really grateful for letting us do this session and we truly hope that next year will bring us some more wonderful afternoons together.

With love,
Szandra

Welcome Baby - Oscar                   Bournemouth (Dorset)

As photographers, we can be present in lots of situations carefully planned, beautifully set up.
Details of these can fascinate and inspire us and they give an opportunity to capture wonderful, stylish pictures.
However, there is a field of life that is all about raw energy, instincts and naked feelings.
This is the miracle of giving life and being born.

As a doula I know the course of birth from very close, all the physical and emotional changes that come with it.
And as a photographer, I believe there is no other event in life that is more honest, more unrepeatable than the arrival of a new baby.

Our Welcome Baby package is made exactly for capturing these precious moments.

Oscar was only 1,5-days-"old" when we visited them in their own home.

Ditke, Jim, Zacky: Congratulations for little Oscar, and it was a great pleasure for us to see you in this sensitive and wonderful period in your family-life!

We wish you all the best and hope to see you soon,
Szandra, Gabor and Szaffi

Engagement session: Sisi & Tibi - Sandbanks, Bournemout

To shoot an engagement session is a true present.
This is the point in time when the couple is getting closer to their wedding day, and it feels good to let go of all the worries and just focus on themselves and each other.

Sisi and Tibi are very good friends of ours and we have received our invitation to their wedding on the day of this session. This is going to be the first wedding in our life where we will arrive as guests, not as professionals — we can't wait!
However, we really wanted to do their engagement shoot — we know their different faces, their love, we knew our collaboration will turn out to be something really cool.
Being in front of the camera is not new to them, but this time we were interested in their true feelings.
This approach was square one for this photo shoot on a wonderful autumn afternoon. When we started to do the post production work we even forgot to breath.
We love that passion, that love, that delicate expression on their faces. They look so stunning!

Sisi and Tibi, thank you for letting us do this shoot, and we are excitedly looking forward to your wedding day.
Whenever we are in a shop selling babyclothes we always look for Szaffi's outfit that would suit the occasion - it’s not an easy choice :)

Sending hugs to you,
Szandra, Gabor and Szaffi

Storytelling about Viki, David, Sophie and Sammy

5/10/2016

Picture
Storytelling is such an overly popular word these days in photography.
Although we try to avoid clichés and try to think out of the box, we really do feel that the definition of this word describes our work in so many ways.

For us, the story starts when the first e-mail arrives from a couple or a family, saying they chose us to capture an important chapter of their life. Even after years we feel those butterflies in our stomachs and we are excited to get to know them better, to clear the details, to choose the location. And then finally, we meet them.

At that point something happens.
Something, that is hard to put into words - as if all of it was happening in a parallel universe.
It may be trust, it may be honesty that creates a connection, but no matter where life takes us, it surely brings us back together at some point.
This was the case with Viki and her family. We have met them for the first time when their baby, Sammy was still in his mummy's bump.
They have come to Bournemouth with their daughter, Sophie so that, as a highlight of a beautiful weekend, they can have family portraits taken.
We took a walk, talked and laughed a lot — that part wasn't hard at all as the whole family is cheerful, full of laughter and good vibes.:)

Then days and weeks passed, we were all busy with our own family lives, but we heard from each other time to time.
The next time we saw them baby Sammy was 6 weeks old.
We spent a relaxed, care-free morning at their place, in their own home. This time there was no need to get to know each other, nor to warm up to one an other, our presence was natural for them and it feels really good to work in an atmosphere like that.

Relaxed, heartfelt portraits can be taken this way, we can capture genuine moments without poses or sophisticated expressions.

This is what we hope for every time when doing a family photo session.
Because these pictures will be the ones in your family album that can recall smells, giggles, that will bring back a familiar grin, stir up real emotions in their perfectly imperfect way.

For us, this is the real genre of storytelling.
We are looking forward to your story. :)

Ivett, Kornel, Lili - a weekend in photos

23/9/2016

Picture
The good thing in being a photographer couple is that when we spend the weekend with our friends, we can take photos to relax, and when we work we take photos for an other reason :)

We know Ivett and Kornel from the time when they were expecting their daughter. When we first met in person, it was their maternity photoshoot with us. Then, we were there when Lili was born. We have spent many afternoons and weekends together since then.
Sometimes we take pictures of them, too :) but this weekend we have been to such a breathtaking place and enjoyed so many wonderful moments, that we felt we have to share this experience with you.

We can't wait until the next time we see them and of course until the next time we can shoot at Durdle Door or some other magical, yet unknown location.

If you are planning your next autumnal family trip, don't forget to tell us — it’s going to make a wonderful album under your Christmas tree.

The Big Babywearing Post

Babywearing is one of the most important, most useful and best things, that happened to us aside from baby giggles since Szaffi was born.
As parents who run their own business, go on trips a lot, and live very-very far from their families without any help, babywearing is the only tool that serves the needs of all the three of us at the same time.

Benefits of Babywearing
  • Babywearing facilitates ‘Kangaroo Care’, or skin to skin contact, which has a myriad of benefits for your baby such as: stabilizing body temperature, improved heart and lung function, and supporting breastfeeding.
  • Carrying your baby can initiate the release of oxytocin, in both males and females, which strengthens bonding and emotional well-being.
  • It has been shown that babies who are carried cry less.
  • Babywearing allows for on the go feedings.
  • Proper positioning, while babywearing, can help promote healthy spine development.
  • Positive emotional experiences with your baby, such as eye contact and talking to your little one while babywearing, provide the foundation for brain development and social skills.
  • The upright position and slight movement provided by babywearing can naturally massage pressure points related to digestion and assist with your baby’s digestion.

Having Szaffi, we had the same thought in so many situations: "What would we do without babywearing?!"

In the middle of a job, while working and when making a living :)

I wonder whether babywearing is dangerous?
It definetely is risky for your hairstyle. :)

Baby Shower

Do you remember, when you were a 4 years old little girl, playing with her dolls "afternoon tea party"?
Tiny cups and pretty dresses, home made cookies and polite sentences to each other - nice memory for all of us :)
And the best thing is that I was invited to a real baby shower like that!
We spent few hours in a cozy tea house, only girls, had a nice chat, fine sweets, warm tea - and all the blessings for Ildi's baby girl <3

Thank you for having me, I can't wait to have a little walk together with the little ones!
